Soundametric food has the following objectives: To explore and investigate sounds that are generated while eating. To identify if there is any type of association between sounds and flavours patterns. To use scientific methodology in order to record data and use these data collections as components of the creative process of design and industrial engineering design. To connect the fields of haute cuisine, gastronomy and design in a different way. To explore the formal limits that gastronomy and design can contribute to each other.
Rafael Prat Menacho (Barcelona, 1997) has dedicated the last few years to three main pillars: music, design and engineering. These have been weighing each other and this gets reflected in his projects. During his last university, at Elisava, year due to his final project, he discovered the discipline of food design and applied his knowledge to make a unique project combining food, engineering, sound and design.
